Last term we learnt about Mexico by finding out about its geography, culture and customs. We wrote persuasive leaflets and letters, compared different aspects of Mexico and the UK, learnt some Spanish, looked at artwork by Frida Kahlo, developed our sketching skills doing self-portraits and made and decorated Mexican tiles. We celebrated the end of our topic by having a Mexican fiesta, using measures and following instructions to make tortillas, salsa and guacamole before bashing a piñata! In Science, we learned about the life cycles of plants and, continuing our R.E. theme of ceremonies, we found out about ceremonies in Judaism. We enjoyed sharing what we had learnt with the school and our families in our 'Sharing Act of Worship'. Have a look at the photos below to see more of what we've been up to.
This term, we will be learning about Ancient and Modern Greece. We will be finding out about Ancient Greek myths and legends and learning how Ancient Greek ideas shaped the modern world. We also have swimming, the summer production, KS2 trip and Sports Day to look forward to!
We are looking forward to a busy term ahead and will keep you updated on our progress!
