Welcome to Matterhorn Class! After a lovely ‘warm’ Easter break, we are ready for Term 5!
Our connected curriculum theme for term 5 and 6 is ‘AIR’. We will be ‘connecting’ our learning to AIR in science by learning about sound, which is also the feature of our new home learning project. In R.E we will be learning about the world religion of ‘Hinduism’ and will then be learning about life as a journey. Our history focus is the ancient Egyptians and we will find out how they communicated, lived their lives and why we know so much about this ancient historical period. The terms spelling lists are alongside so if your child is unable to locate their spellings in their red reading record, you can always find them! TT Rock Stars and Reading Eggs should be used at home to support their learning, but additional practise of their times tables is also essential to learning them. As the weather warms up, please ensure your child has a water bottle, sun screen has been applied at home before school and a sun hat. PE is on Wednesdays (Tennis coach) and Fridays so please ensure named PE kit is in school. We are named after The Matterhorn which is a mountain in the Alps located between Switzerland and Italy. It has an almost symmetrical pyramid shaped peak and its summit is 4,478 metres high making it one of the highest summits in the Alps If there is anything you would like to discuss with me please feel free to catch me after school.
