A very big welcome to our children and their families, as well as other visitors to our page!
In term 4 our connected-curriculum theme is ‘Water. During the term we will be learning about water, it’s uses, where it comes from and how we can help to conserve it. We will be reading a range of texts with links to under the sea and island life. As we move into Spring, we will also be discovering the changes that occur around us. In addition, we will be exploring why Easter is a special time for Christians. In Maths, we will be comparing objects by weight and capacity and measuring time and investigating money.
Class newsletters will be sent home weekly, these will outline what we have been learning about that week. We will not be setting formal homework; however, we hope that the weekly outline will offer an insight into your child’s week at school and offer opportunities for you to carry out activities with your child at home relating to those topics. Learning is always more valuable when it is meaningful to your child and by reinforcing what we have been learning in school at home, you can support this. We hope that we can work together to make your child’s first year at school as valuable and inspiring as possible, creating firm foundations for them to build-upon as they move on through the school.
Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any queries, we can always arrange an appointment to meet and discuss any issues or concerns you may have. We look forward to another exciting and busy term in Everest Class.
