Hello everyone, welcome to Fox Class.
Autumn is upon us and Term 2 is in full swing. Term 1 will be hard to follow. Blowing up balloons in Science, building and exploding our own volcanoes and not forgetting all the exciting adventures in English!
Nevertheless, we embark on new and exciting adventures.
This term we will be reading a new book by Elizabeth Laird, called ‘The Song of a Dolphin Boy’. A warm and inviting book that will lead us down a road of friendship, bravery and passion.
Main character Finn is a young boy who fights to save his friends from the horrors of plastic pollution. We will be writing our own persuasive speeches to raise awareness across the school. So…watch this space!
The Water Cycle
Linking nicely to our class book this term we will be learning more about the Water Cylce. I for one haven’t stopped singing the Water Cycle song… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWb4KlM2vts
Please listen and learn at home!
In Science this term we will be learning all about sound. By the end of the term everyone should be able to answer the following questions;
1) How are sounds made?
2) How does sound travel?
3) How do humans process different sounds?
Our Multiplication Masters and Spelling Superstars leader board has been a great hit with the children. Each week the children have the opportunity to make it onto our leader board – winning 5 raffle tickets each!
Times tables are a be a big focus this year and all year 4 children are expected to know all of their times tables up to 12 X 12. Please support this by practising at home. Resources can be found on the left.
