As mentioned last week this week you will be planning and writing your very own adventure story, using The Animals of Farthing Wood as your inspiration.

Task 1

Listen / read Chapter 3 of the book (attached below)

 

Task 2

Please answer the following questions:

1) What is the Chapter called?

2) Why were the Otters so excited?

3) Which animal 'bared his teeth'? 

4) Why did the Otters stop visiting the wood?

5) What word was used to describe the woodland on the last page?

 

Task 3
Look at the picture below, choose one to focus on:



Create a mind map of all the things you feel / see when looking at the picture. Write as many adjectives as you can. The woodland will be the setting of your story.

 

Task 4
Plan your writing. You will find a planning sheet attached below, you need think about how you will make your story stand out. Your story should have a beginning, middle and end. You need to think about a twist or an event that makes the story exciting!
