Today you will be writing your introductory paragraph! Don't forget you will need to remember your 5 Ws. Think back to the story so far, we will be reporting on Beowulf's victory.

 Task 1
Answer the following questions in short ready to put them into a paragraph. If you need to go back and listen to the story again you can, just click here:

  • Who is it about?

  • When did it take place?
  • Where did it take place?
  • Why did it happen?

Task 2

Once you have completed Task 1 you will need to write your answers into a paragraph. Here is my example:

Treacherous beast Grendel finally meets his fate!
The peoples hero, Beowulf has finally freed the people of the gasly Grendel. The prince of the Geats, Beowulf, delivered his peace promise last night after Grendel's arm was ripped from his body leaving him defenceless and bleeding to his death. The arm now hangs high in the rafters of Heorot's grand mead hall as a sign of victory and freedom.

Task 3
Listen / read Part 4 of the story and answer the following questions:

1) Why was Grendel's mother so upset?

2) How many people did Grendel's mother kill?

3) What will Beowulf receive when he kills the 'Sea-Hag' (Grendel's mother)?

4) What made the Sea Had slither to the surface?

5) What was Beowulf's helmet made of?
