All children are encouraged to have a healthy snack during playtime. This can include fresh fruits or vegetables or a cereal bar. Parents are asked to avoid chocolate.
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have access to free fruit or vegetable snacks each playtime as part of a national NHS scheme. These are delivered to the school and, during the year, children have access to a wide variety of fruit and vegetable snacks including carrots, tomatoes, apples, pears, strawberries and raisins. Parents are welcome to send in their own healthy snack if this is preferred.
All children in Years 3 to 6 are encouraged to bring in their own healthy snack for playtime. If there are any snacks left from the Infants each day, they are available to the older children in the school, but these are not guaranteed each day.
If your child stays on for a club after school we also encourage parents to send in an additional snack for an energy boost at the end of the day.
