Highlights at a glance

• Strong KS2 results at the expected standard: 74% of our Year 6 pupils met the combined standard in Reading, Writing & Maths — above the national figure (62%). 

• Phonics success: 86% of Year 1 pupils passed the phonics check (national ~80%).

• Maths excellence – 89% at the expected standard and 37% at the higher standard, showing deep understanding and strong reasoning skills.

• Grammar and spelling strength – 42% reached the higher standard, above the national picture.

Our children leave Year 6 with:

• Strong academic skills in reading, writing, maths, and science.

• Confidence in applying learning across the curriculum.

• Character and resilience developed through leadership roles, enrichment activities, and living “The Woodchurch Way”.

• Science achievement – Above national with almost all pupils meeting expectations.
