School Day

Every day at Woodchurch CEP School is designed to be purposeful, engaging, and full of opportunities for our children to shine. From the moment our gates open to the last wave goodbye, our timetable blends exciting lessons, opportunities to explore, and moments to pause, reflect, and connect with one another.

A Warm Welcome

For families who need an earlier start, our Early Drop-Off Club opens at 8:00am, offering a relaxed and friendly beginning to the day. At 8:30am, our gates open for the main school day, giving children time to greet friends and settle into class ready for learning.

Learning and Shining

Our mornings and afternoons are packed with fun, engaging lessons that spark curiosity and challenge every child to achieve their best. Whether it’s discovering a new maths strategy, diving into a gripping story, experimenting in science, or getting creative in art, every session is designed to inspire.

Moments to Reflect

Each day includes collective worship, where we gather together to reflect on our values, share stories, and celebrate our community. It’s a time for children to think deeply, develop spiritually, and be inspired to make a difference in the world.

Play, Friendship, and Fun

Social times are a special part of the day. Playgrounds buzz with laughter, games, and imaginative adventures. Lunchtimes are a chance to recharge, build friendships, and enjoy the fresh air.

The End of the Day and Beyond

  • EYFS (Reception): finishes at 3:00pm

  • Years 1–6: finish at 3:10pm

After the main school day, the fun doesn’t have to stop. Children can join our Stay’n’Play wraparound care, run by Team Theme, which is open until 6:00pm. We also offer a wide variety of after-school clubs each term — from sports and music to arts and crafts — ensuring there’s something for every interest.

Total Weekly Hours

  • EYFS: 32 hours 30 minutes per week

  • Years 1–6: 33 hours 20 minutes per week

At Woodchurch, each school day is more than just a timetable — it’s a journey of learning, friendship, reflection, and joy.
