Bereavement

If you, your child, or your family have experienced the loss of a loved one, we understand that this can have a profound impact on every aspect of life. At Woodchurch CE Primary School, we are here to offer care and support for you and your child during this difficult time.

Our School Bereavement Contact (SBC) is Mrs Rachel Butcher, who can be reached via the school office. She is available to listen, offer guidance, and coordinate support both within school and through external services.

Support Available

  • In-school support: Providing a safe space for children to talk about their feelings, ask questions, and be supported in their daily routines.

  • Referrals to specialist services: We can connect families with organisations such as:

    • Holding On, Letting Go

    • Slide Away
Both of these organisations specialise in supporting children and families through bereavement and grief.

Helpful Resources for Families
