Dyslexia
Dyslexia is a specific learning difficulty that mainly affects the skills involved in reading, spelling and writing. It is not linked to intelligence – many children with dyslexia are creative, imaginative, and think in unique ways. With the right support, they can thrive both in school and beyond.
Signs of Dyslexia
Children with dyslexia may show some of the following characteristics:
-
Difficulty learning to read or sounding out words
-
Struggles with spelling or writing clearly
-
Challenges with memory and sequencing
-
Slower speed when processing written information
-
Strengths in creativity, problem-solving and big-picture thinking
