Communication
At Woodchurch, we believe great communication between home and school is the key to helping every child succeed. We work hard to make sure families are kept informed, involved, and able to get in touch easily whenever needed.

ParentMail
We use ParentMail for a range of important school communications:
-
Reporting absences quickly and securely
-
Sending messages to the school office
-
Booking places on trips and events
-
Signing up for Parents’ Evening appointments
ParentMail allows us to send updates straight to your phone or email, so you never miss important information.
Class Dojo
Class Dojo is our main platform for day-to-day classroom communication and celebrating children’s achievements. Through Class Dojo you can:
-
Receive a weekly post from your child’s class teacher sharing learning highlights
-
See regular updates from other staff about events, reminders, and opportunities
-
Celebrate your child’s successes through points and messages
-
Keep in touch with your child’s teacher for quick questions or updates.
Face-to-Face Communication
Every morning, a member of our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) is at the school gate to greet families. They’re always happy to chat, answer questions, and pass messages directly to staff.
Staying Informed
We recommend:
-
Checking ParentMail daily for updates and reminders
-
Looking out for Class Dojo notifications for class-specific news
-
Speaking to staff at the gate or contacting the office if you need a quick response
-
Following our newsletters and school website for key dates and announcements
At Woodchurch, we want our families to feel connected, informed, and confident that they can reach us easily. Whether it’s a quick message on Dojo, a face-to-face chat, or an email to the office, we’re here to listen and respond.
Social Media
We use our school’s official social media channels to share news, celebrate achievements, and give you a window into everyday life at Woodchurch CEP School.
Through our posts, you’ll find:
-
Celebrations of pupil achievements and school events
-
Updates and reminders about trips, clubs, and activities
-
Photos and stories from special days, projects, and community events

We never share personal information, and we follow our safeguarding and consent policies for all images. Parents and carers are kindly reminded not to share or tag images of children other than their own.
Our social media is a great way to see what’s happening in school and to celebrate our children’s hard work and successes with the wider community.
Respectful and Positive Communication
At Woodchurch CEP School, we value open, honest, and respectful communication between families and staff. Our aim is always to work together in a way that supports our children’s learning, wellbeing, and happiness.
We kindly ask families to be mindful when using Class Dojo:
-
Staff have their own families and personal time, so please avoid sending non-urgent messages outside of working hours.
-
Teachers have limited time to check Dojo during the school day as they are focused on teaching. Messages may not be seen until later in the day.
-
Anything urgent (e.g., changes to pick-up arrangements, reporting illness, immediate concerns) should always be directed to the school office by phone or email, rather than through Dojo.
We also ask that all messages, whether on Dojo, by email, in person, or by phone, are polite, friendly, and constructive — even if you are raising a concern or sharing a worry. We are here to help, and positive, respectful communication ensures we can work together to find the best outcomes for your child.
