GDPR

At Woodchurch CE Primary School, we take data protection and the privacy of our pupils, families, and staff very seriously.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force in May 2018 and sets out clear rules about how personal data must be collected, stored, and used. It ensures that individuals have greater control over their personal information and places additional responsibilities on organisations, including schools, to keep that information safe.

We are committed to being open and transparent about how we use data, and to making sure we comply with the law at all times.

What GDPR means for our school

  • Pupils, parents, carers and staff have the right to know how their personal data is used.

  • We will only collect information that we genuinely need for education, safeguarding, and school administration.

  • All personal data must be kept safe and secure.

  • You have the right to access your data, request corrections, and in some cases, request deletion.

  • Where consent is required (for example, for photographs, trips, or third-party apps), we will always ask clearly and make sure you can withdraw consent at any time.

Privacy Notices

We publish Privacy Notices to explain in detail:

  • What data we hold

  • Why we use it

  • Who we may share it with

  • How long we keep it

You can find our Privacy Notices on the right hand side of this page.
