All Saint Church

At Woodchurch CE Primary School, our Christian vision and values are strengthened by our close and special relationship with All Saints Church, a place of beauty, history, and community at the heart of our village.

Worship and Services

Worship is central to our life as a church school. Each week, our pupils take part in collective worship led by school staff, visiting clergy, or members of the church community. This regular rhythm gives children time to reflect, sing, and grow in faith together.

Across the year, we celebrate our core services in All Saints Church:

  • Harvest Festival – giving thanks for God’s creation and sharing with others.

  • Christmas Service – retelling the nativity and celebrating the joy of Christ’s birth.

  • Easter Worship – reflecting on hope, forgiveness and new life.

  • Leavers’ Service – a special time of blessing and reflection as our Year 6 pupils prepare for their next stage of learning.

These services are attended by families and the wider community, reminding us that our school is part of something bigger.

Open the Book

Children love the Open the Book assemblies, led by volunteers from across the benefice. Through drama, story-telling and role play, Bible stories are brought vividly to life, giving children opportunities to engage, ask questions and explore Christian values in a fun and memorable way.

Visits and Class Links

Reverend Sue and Reverend Maria are regular visitors in school. They not only lead worship but also spend time in classrooms, getting to know pupils and teachers, answering questions about faith, and exploring how Christianity connects with our curriculum. This strengthens the children’s understanding of both faith and the world around them.

Using the Church for Learning

All Saints Church is a place of learning as well as worship. Children use the church to support RE lessons, explore Christian traditions, and experience spirituality in a sacred space. The church’s architecture, stained glass, and peaceful atmosphere also provide rich opportunities for art, history and reflection.

A Place of History and Beauty

All Saints Church is one of the most striking medieval churches in Kent. With its beautiful stonework and tall spire, it has been a landmark in the village for centuries. Inside, the church tells stories of faith across generations, from its ancient memorials and stained-glass windows to its ongoing role at the centre of community life. By learning and worshipping in this historic building, our children gain a sense of continuity, belonging, and respect for the heritage of their village.
