Let's Explore

In the Let’s Explore project, your child will explore their class environment and school grounds so that they feel settled and happy in their new surroundings. They will learn about the local environment and find out about places they have visited on holiday. They will look at and create maps for journeys.

Term 1 

Build it up

In the Build It Up project, your child will explore structures in the world around them. They will learn about materials and their properties, and will have the chance to work independently and in groups to design and make marvellous structures.

Term 1 Knowledge Organiser 

Snack 
Each day the children will be provided with a piece of fresh fruit or vegetable as part of the government free fruit and vegetable scheme. If you would prefer to send them in with a snack you may do so but it must be a piece of fruit or veg. 

If you have registered for your child to receive free cartons of milk from the company ‘Cool Milk’, this will be given at snack time. Once your child turns 5, this service is no longer free and you will be charged if you wish your child to continue receiving it. 

P.E. 
Your child will NOT need a PE kit in school as they will be coming to school in their PE kit on our class PE day. Our PE day is a Friday, please make sure your child wears their PE kit on a Friday.  If your child wears stud earrings, these will need to be either removed at home prior to P.E day or medical tape must be worn to cover them over. Long hair will also need to be tied up. 
Our school PE kit is: 
-House coloured t-shirt (if you are not sure what house your child is in, please message and I can find out). 
-Black shorts/leggings or tracksuit bottoms 
-Trainers
